Alana Builds Some Sentences

On Monday, after doing a fabulous job at her skip counting, Alana had to build some long sentences using words Anita had given her. William made the work extra challenging at times, by sitting on a lot of the words, but after he got sick of being moved, he sat to rest on the rug. Alana came up with some great, long sentences, and she looks forward to using these examples to create her own written sentences in her next session. Sentence building using given words helps with understanding grammar, and with making more complex and longer sentences.

William Goes Green, with some Help from Max!

On Tuesday, William discovered some of the hazards of working with children, when in art class, Max decided to give him a splash of colour for spring! Max wanted to colour one of the cat boxes green for Spring, but when he went outside to start, William was in the cat box! Max tried hard to get William out, and he did get out briefly, but then he got straight back in again! Max decided he wanted to try and paint the box with William in it. William thought it was great fun trying to play with Max’s paintbrush – until Max brushed William with the green paint. Max then thought William looked funny with a green stripe, and painted him some more. William was not amused, but he was still too lazy to get out of the box! Max and Anita called Mali to the rescue and we watched in amusement as poor William discovered the consequence of his laziness – a shower! William did not enjoy the shower, but once outside in the afternoon, he loved his new, green box!
